Mermaids

This morning I watched the movie mermaids. It is one of my favourite movies because it is so unusual. The movie is set in the 1950's in America. Charlotte Flax (Winona Ryder) is a 15 year old, very religious girl who wants to be a nun when she is older. She moves to her new town with her Mum, Rachel (Cher) and younger sister, Kate (Christine Ricci) and falls in love with the 26 year old Joe, the caretaker, who works at the convent (See how it is getting strange).

---SPOILERS AHEAD---

She kisses him (just kisses him) about half way through the movie, and she thinks that she has done a terrible sin and believes that she God has made her pregnant. As she can't tell her Mum she is 'pregnant', she runs away from home.
Later on in the movie, Charlotte gives Kate some alcohol, but then Kate goes on to drink some more without her knowing. She takes her sister to go see the bell tower near the lake where Joe is. Charlotte wants to go up, but Kate refuses, saying she will go and find some rocks (one of her hobbies). Charlotte and Joe make love in the bell tower while at the same time, without Charlotte realising, Kate has lost her balance will walking on rocks and fell into the lake. As Kate is drunk, even though she is a very good swimmer, she nearly drowns and dies.
Told you it was strange, but I love the storyline (yes, there is a lot more to it than about Charlotte's side of things. There is a lot about Rachel, because she is very strange too).

I did some study for Human Biology.

I then played some SA:MP.

Then I did some more study.

I watched CSI: while I ate my guilt free dinner.

That's about it!

A Quick Hello

I have been doing study for my Applicable Exam today for tomorrow. I have worked through one day and I've just started going through a second. I went and tried on my dresses today to see if they still fitted me. The dress from my year 11 River Cruise still fits me, but my black and white dress, the one I wore for John's birthday had to be readjusted again. I watched one whole episode of Days of our Lives, something I haven't done in quite a long time (I don't even really like the show) and went back to studying.

Well that's about it. I will be doing some more study after dinner and then watch my daily dose of Neighbours.

Talk about the exam tomorrow night, when I hope I will be more happy after it than the Chemistry one (I woke up today remembering a part of the exam and I am trying to remember if I did it or not (because I missed bits and pieces from the paper) and it is stressing me out!).

Graduation

Yesterday was my year 12 graduation. The chapel was packed with people and there were a lot of people standing. We had to walk in and stand up near the alter. In our rehearsal, we were told not to talk as we walked in, but when we did, everyone in the chapel was talking. It was quite rude, in my eyes actually. I was standing right at the front of the altar, so I could really notice it.

The mass was quite boring, as usual. I was happy to get that out of the way, because afterwards was when we would be getting our certificates. Dr Curry made a speech, that I kept falling in and out of sleep of. Then Lauren and Dominic made a speech, which was actually interesting to listen to because it was funny. We then got our certificates and a pen.

Afterwards, we watched the movie that Joseph made while the band played our graduation song. The bass was put up WAY too high, so when Luke started playing, it scared and shook everyone. Then Adam and Matt's microphone wasn't working so we couldn't hear what they were signing.

I was so happy to walk out of the chapel. Everyone was there hugging each other. A few of my friends then walked back to the PA to drop off our gowns. Dad found me and walked me back to the chapel, where I met up with Babcia, Dziadzio, Nanna, Uncle Tim and the rest of my family and we took photos.

Today I have been studying for Chemistry. I went outside and studied today on a blanket on the lawn in the sun. It was nice. Missy was rolling on the 'blankie' next to me. Other than that, a pretty boring day.

A Friend In Need Is A Friend Indeed

Catherine called me today around 11:30am to ask if she could hang out at my place. She had been to school earlier that morning and she had left her keys at home, so she was locked out. I went with Missy and caught up with her near the bush. We walked back to my place, where we watched Spaceballs and ate chips and cracker biscuits. Her Mum called and said that she had come back home and hid the keys. For the first time, I heard Catherine speak her language. It was beautiful. After we watched the movie, Missy and I walked her up to the main street. Lucky Missy; two walks in one day.

After that I felt very distracted. I was going to do a lot of study today, but a friend in need is a friend in deed. I did some Applicable Mathematics study, as well as some Human Biology notes before dinner, but after that, I could not be bothered and just watched TV. Futurama had a very good episode on, where the Professor had created a parallel universe. Very interesting and funny!

Seminar

So I had my Chemistry seminar today. It was during period three and four, but I had to go to school at nine because Stephen had to go to Princess Margaret Hospital to get his allergy patch test done. I went in the library and did an Applicable Mathematics exam, which I got half of it done in a distracted two hours. Nathan also showed up and he worked on Physical Science.

At the seminar, Mr C went through and asked if anyone had any problems. He also gave us all the solutions which was really good. We finished quite early. We took Kristina home, then we got Chooks.

I played a bit of SA:MP which was quite cool. For some reason, guys have this idea in their heads they can kill girls quite easily. I did the opposite. I pwned him. This guy then killed me and I was given a few opinions to punish him for an unfair murder. I decided to take his money. All $29000 of it.

Thank You

Firstly, I would like to thank everybody that has been visiting and reading the entries on my blog. It is funny to think that since I began this blog nearly a month ago that I have nearly had 150 page views. I wasn't expecting so many! When I look at the map on SiteMeter, the map is full of visits from every corner of the globe. I haven't been getting as many comments as I would like to though (I know my friends are leaving me some), and it would be really nice to see the comments rolling in.

I haven't been doing very much today. I watched the Leonardo DiCaprio version of Romeo and Juliet, after hearing the people next door to my English class watching it. Stephen was getting frustrated with the Old English being put into a modernised movie (they changed the story so it was set in the present and they used gun instead of swords, like it is seen in the traditional play, but kept the Old English). He saw cars and gun fights and he asked me, "Are you sure this is Romeo and Juliet?"

I cleaned up my room to make it ready for my TEE study and organised everything. I realised that I had left my Applicable study book at school, so I did Human Biology study instead. I created a test on Tickle; How well do you know Emily? Several people have taken it so far, John having the highest score. You can take the test here.
