Protection by Massive Attack

This girl I know needs some shelter
She don't believe anyone can help her
She's doing so much harm, doing so much damage
But you don't want to get involved
You tell her she can manage
And you can't change the way she feels
But you could put your arms around her
I know you want to live yourself
But could you forgive yourself
If you left her
Just the way you found her

I stand in front of you
I'll take the force of the blow
Protection
I stand in front of you
I'll take the force of the blow
Protection

You're a boy and i'm a girl
But you know you can lean on me
And I don't have no fear
I'll take on any man here
Who says that's not the way it should be

I stand in front of you
I'll take the force of the blow
Protection
I stand in front of you
I'll take the force of the blow
Protection

She's a girl and you're a boy
Sometimes you look so small, look so small
You've got a baby of your own
When your baby's grown
She'll be the one
To catch you when you fall

I stand in front of you
I'll take the force of the blow
Protection
I stand in front of you
I'll take the force of the blow
Protection

You're a girl and I'm a boy (x4)

Sometimes you look so small, need some shelter
Just runnin' round and round, helter skelter
And I've leaned on you for years
Now you can lean on me
And that's more than love
That's the way it should be
Now I can't change the way you think
But I can put my arms around you
That's just part of the deal
That's the way I feel
I put my arms around you

I stand in front of you
I'll take the force of the blow
Protection
I stand in front of you
I'll take the force of the blow
Protection

You're a boy and i'm a girl (x4)

AFL Grand Final

Today was the AFL Grand Final and we had a party at Uncle Rodney's house. He has a projector, so we were able to watch the game on the big screen. The game of Geelong verses Port Adelaide was so boring because it was a one-sided game. Geelong 24.19 (163) def. Port Adelaide 6.8 (44). Melanie won the betting. I met my new second cousin today, Joshua, son of David. He is very cute and he didn't cry very much. I played pool and only won one game. Stephen beat quite a few people. Stephen and I played darts (around the board). We got to the green section then Stephen gave up because he had already got a bullseye. We stayed for dinner and had burgers. We didn't get home to around 7 and Missy was so hungry! I watched Pretty Woman ten minutes ago, which I hadn't watched for awhile. Overall, it was a good day.

...

I had such a bad night's sleep last night. I must have had a fever, because I was freezing cold. My stomach was aching. I felt really sick. I tossed and turned.

Today was the last day of school forever and I felt so alone. Everybody was talking with everybody else, signing people's shirts and books, whereas I had put myself to the side, feeling sick. People were taking photos with every person they could find and I felt like an outcast. Not many people wanted photos with me. I felt like I had to ask them to take my photo. I was in such a bad mood with how sick I was feeling and how tired I was because of it.

The six of us Chemistry girls had organised to have a private party. It didn't turn out to be one. Everyone else who was in the lab area came into OUR room to steal OUR food. People have been having parties and we weren't allowed to come to them. How come they were given right to come and steal our food? They kept coming back. I felt like I could scream at them. A few times we told them to leave and they still came back. I was so upset because I wanted to have a few hours with my Chemistry friends. I was so quiet. When everybody had left, which was five minutes to the bell, I exploded. I started talking loudly and banging the tables in such frustration.

I have to go to my brother's football trophy presentation night. He finally got his 50 game medallion which he should have got two years ago. The whole thing went to long and we left half way through. I said to my parents that our school presentation are quicker then theirs, plus we have "entertainment". The thing I found strange, is that a football club that endorses fitness and health provided Chooks for everyone. It was so boring that I was nearly falling asleep.

Why is everybody stuck one way? What is up with everyone sticking with their boyfriends all the time? Pushing your friends away is the most horrible thing you can do, because when you need someone to talk to other than your boyfriend, you will have no one.

I FEEL SO ALONE.

Boring present. Hopeful future.

Today was boring.
We got the cover sheets for the TEE/WACE exams.
I finished my art folio and did the evaluation questions. We took photos in Applicable as it was our last class ever.
My friends and I played Jim Rummy and 13 at lunch.
I got my results back for my Human Biology test and lab exams.
I went home and watched Judge Judy. I got on the computer.
I'm writing this blog.
I'm tired.
I can't wait until tomorrow.
No more classes ever again.
I will be able to get a good night's sleep.
I will have to worry about exams now.
I will have a party.
We can celebrate.
We have gotten so far.
We are near the end.

Mercy Day 2007

The names of the people in the photos below have not been included to protect their privacy. Please don't ask who they are.
Today was Mercy Day at my school. It is a day to celebrate the Sisters of Mercy and their leader Catherine McAuley who founded our school 50 years ago.
The day started off with a traditional whole school mass.

Afterwards, we went back to our form rooms. I visited the Augustine form room to have a game of cards with my friends.

Then, we had our Mercy Day fair. Everybody runs stalls. This years stalls were quite disappointing as there wasn't much to do. We got our food and visited where they were playing Halo 3 because Jayden was hanging out there. My friends and I went into the Gymnasium to play cards to get rid of boredness we were feeling.

Playing, what Khue called Jimmy Mummy (actually called Jim Rummy)

The Tongue Phenomenon

I did face-painting at ten past twelve. So many people wanted their face painted that I'm sure we made a alot of money. The first thing I painted was a butterfly. It was so hard to try and paint something upright when I'm used to painting something flat and horizontal. I also painted hearts and did quite a few worded requests.

They were selling the large lollipops that they had last year for 50c but they sold out before I could get some. I started haggling with people so I could buy it off them. I offered Martin $2 but he said no. He wanted $4 for it. Janna, who I had asked previously, took my up on my $3 offer and Martin was disappointed that he didn't end up making a profit.

After the fair, we had Mercy Idol, which was nothing compared to last year. They had no real singing acts this year, just a lot of dancing, hip-hop and rap. I stood up on the sides of the Gym so I could see. I don't think it was really worth it. The acts were only good for two minutes, then they got so repetitive.

Overall, Mercy Day wasn't a good as it was last year. As seeing as it was my last one as a student of Mercy, that made the day disappointing. Nether the less, I will be back next year with a group of people to show up unexpectantly.

Signing off.

Crowded

Not much to report on today.

The Human Biology test was so hard, that I didn't get to finish it. Some of the questions didn't have answers which we could have studied in our books.

I got my English essay that I did yesterday back and I got a 6H (80%). I thought I did bad. I said that when I did my Ten Canoes essay and I got a 7F.

At lunch I taught Martin how to play Jim Rummy. Everybody is addicted to that game now.

The bus came late after school, so it was packed with JSR students. When the bus came to my stop, it nearly drove off without me getting off because I was trying to get off, but there were people standing in the aisles because it was packed and the fact that I was holding my giant Art folio didn't help me to try and get off this crowded bus.

Salad Mix

I had my last Chemistry test today. I used a lot of my calculator notes to help me with the test, but overall, I think I did quite good.

In Art, we came up with designs to create our silver clay pendant. I used some paper clay and some designs from my folio to create an idea. If it looked any good, I drew it on my design sheet.

Emily asked me to help her put up the advertisements for our face painting stall for Mercy Day all around the school. I think I got a bit carried away with the sticky tape as i used quite a bit. We walked around the MLC and SLC area, to the gym and to the JLC area. When we finished, we walked back to religion, where we watched The Lion King.

In English, I had my last in-class essay (I won't be missing them!) and it wasn't very easy. I only wrote two pages and two lines of the third which is least amount I have written all year. It was so hard! I felt that I ran out of time because I still had so much to say.

I really felt like helping making dinner tonight for some reason, so I made a salad. I used a lettuce mix, tomatoes, carrots, cucumber, mushrooms, cheese and Italian dressing. It was nice and colourful, plus it tasted great too.
